Community Engagement

“The original vision for RTPark was to establish an epicenter for fostering a sustainable technology sector in the USVI economy; one closely affiliated with UVI. The intent has been to leverage untapped resources, facilitate infrastructure where needed, achieve growth through public/private partnerships, and have as stakeholders the USVI government, UVI, and commercial interests.

“It is uncommon to see public sector, academic, and commercial interests coming together – and staying together – to accomplish a common goal. It remains a challenge to keep these disparate stakeholders aligned. But it is a testament to the original visionaries in that they saw the need, understood the value each stakeholder brings, and positioned the USVI to demonstrate leadership where few have pioneered before.”

– David Zumwalt, Executive Director

Community support is crucial to any economic development initiative, and RTPark is no exception. Our efforts are in support of a stronger community, and we understand and word hard to guard the public trust. Expanding and improving community outreach is a key priority for RTPark, because our community shares a vested interest in successful economic development. In the same way RTPark was originally structured to foster public/private partnerships in furtherance of its mission, we can only succeed by working together, at many levels throughout our community, while always being mindful that we are standing on the shoulders of giants.
